Name: Growing and Going Brownwood Area Community Garden
Date: February 19, 2018 - March 16, 2018
Event Description:
As a non-profit, we are always struggling to pay our Garden Coordinator, Daniel Graham. The Community Garden has 64 raised beds (3 feet by 20 feet). Thirty-four of the beds are what we call pantry beds. The food grown in these beds is donated to food pantries and local groups that feed people in need. We believe that all people should have access to fresh, naturally grown foods. The other 30 beds are available for citizens to lease. By leasing a bed, the gardener has a well-maintained bed with irrigation along with people to help with their gardening questions. This is what makes this garden a Community Garden. It is a resource for anyone and everyone. Without a Garden Coordinator, the Community Garden would cease to exist in Brownwood. So, we are calling on YOU to help us with a donation to keep the Community Garden Going and Growing.
