The Brown County Museum of History is one the first museums in Texas to be honored with this Purple Heart designation, given in recognition of ongoing exhibits and initiatives that support veterans and promote patriotism. Nominated by Purple Heart Medal recipient, Captain Paul E. Wade. Awarded by the Military Order of the Purple Heart Department of Texas Senior Vice Commander Tracey L. Brown Greene.
