Event Description:
Brownwood Jaycees are proud to announce the recreation of RiverFest.
    The all-day event will feature various arts and crafts, vendors, a kid's corner, a car show put on by the Heartland Cruisers, and live music from 8:00 pm to midnight.  Admission into RiverFest will cost $2 per adult and $1 for children with half of the admission proceeds going to the Salvation Army's School Supply fund.
    Residents can also enter in one of the three competitions that will take place, including a fishing contest, a barbecue cook-off (sanctioned by the Lone Start Barbecue Society, and raft races.
    The entree fee for the raft race is $25, and awards will be given out for the following:  Fastest Raft, Best Looking and Most Creative Use of Materials - a Titanic Award will also be given to one raft from either category that had the most "dramatic sinking."  Additional awards will include first place for singles, doubles and groups.
    The barbecue cook-off will be held on Aug. 14th and 15th.  Check-in will be from 9:00 - 11:00 am.  The entry fee is $125, and includes entry into the following categories:  brisket, ribs, and chick.  The top 10 teams in the barbecue cook-off will be recognized with the top three in each meat category receiving a trophy and a cash prize.
