The July art exhibition at the Brownwood Art Center will feature the fiber and textile artworks by Mary Green Engle.
Congratulations to “Artist of the Year: Mary Green Engle” July Opening Reception will be July 4th, 5-7pm. Mary was voted by her talented peers as Artist of the Year. Mary is a Fiber and Textile artist and her work will be on display the month of July.
She is graciously sharing her gallery walls with guest artist Mike Lewis who is a very talented potter and Charlotte Cooper of Charlotte Garrett Designs who is an assemblage and mixed media artist. This will be a show that will have such a variety of artwork that it shouldn’t be missed.

Mary Green Engle Artist Statement: My ancestry is a tapestry of women who made household linens, quilts and clothing, by hand. Their works anchor and inspire my life, and are my treasures. I’m proud to carry on those traditions, and I’m always enthusiastic about learning more. The Fiber and Textile Arts group of the BAA has given me, and so many others, a chance to hone the basic skills passed to us through our mothers, our grandmothers, our great-grandmothers, and those before. And the BAA provides us with the encouragement and support to raise those skills to the realm of art.
