Time: 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM CDT
Event Description:
The Brownwood Police Department will be hosting a community meeting to receive input and feedback relating to our current Animal Control Ordinances. The current Ordinances were last updated in 1995. The intent of the community meeting is to gather community input on potential changes to the current ordinances as well as identify the strengths and gaps of current enforcement efforts.
In 2017, the Police Department received more than 2,900 Calls for Service related to animals. Some of the most frequent types of calls involve unrestrained dogs, aggressive dogs, and reports of animal cruelty/neglect. The Department has two Animal Control Officers who work closely with the Corinne T. Smith Animal Center to address issues related to animals who come into the possession of the Department.
